Industrial Wastewater Desludging Using Dewatering Bags

Wastewater treatment aims to convert contaminated wastes into an effluent that is safe to discharge into the environment. Industrial wastewater can be particularly harmful to the environment due to the presence of contaminants like metals, nitrates, pesticides, pathogens and many others. Releasing wastewater into the environment without filtering out these components results in environmental pollution, damage to human health and can have serious legal consequences for your business.

Industrial wastewater dewatering has several advantages. First of all, it allows industries to recycle water that can be reused in manufacturing processes. Secondly, dewatering helps to prevent hazardous leaks which can cause significant environmental damage from holding ponds. Dewatering also allows industries to discharge environmentally safe effluent back to the water table. Filtered solids from the process are disposed of in landfills which results in reduced environmental pollution.

Dewatering bags are among the more efficient tools for desludging wastewater. Sludge is pumped into these bags which are then filled to capacity. Polymers are then added to the sludge to aid separation. Filtered effluent passes through the micro pores of the dewatering bag’s fabric and flows back to the holding ponds. The solids in the dewatering bag are allowed to accumulate and once the bag is full, can be disposed of in landfills or applied back to land.
